How the money raised will make a difference?

On the 5th of August, after a regular day in the office at LongView, Lucy’s daughter Maddie was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblasic Leukaemia (ALL). She had been a little off that weekend and Lucy and Josh had sent her to the doctors just to be sure. Two hours after her diagnosis she started treatment, and the family had to adjust to this new normal. After a month of brutal treatment which included surgeries and chemo Lucy and Josh got the news that she had responded incredibly well to treatment and that there were no leukaemia cells left in her bone marrow. Her cancer is now in remission. They now embark on a two year journey to keep it that way.

It goes without saying it has been a challenging time for one of our very own and will continue to be a journey ahead, with ongoing treatment.
We want to show our support in as many ways as we can and what better way than supporting a not-for-profit organisation that have already provided Lucy and her family so much support through this horrible time.

Challenge is a unique organisation that has a very personal connection to children and families living with cancer. The wellbeing of the entire family is Challenge’s fundamental concern. Through their programs and services, they aim to make life easier as children deal with a life-threatening illness.

Challenge provides an extensive range of non-medical support services including playgroup, music and art therapy, massage therapy and practical information. In the community, Challenge offers camps, tickets to sporting matches and concerts, holiday accommodation, parent retreats, home help, financial support and educational scholarship opportunities. In hospital, Challenge has a daily interface on the ward which involves providing equipment, activities and support.
